Accredited Exercise Physiologist providing safe and effective exercise interventions for people with chronic disease, injury, and conditions.
WHAT IS EXERCISE PHYSIOLOGY?
Exercise Physiology utilises exercise as medicine.
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) aims to provide you with your greatest quality of life, whether you need to manage a condition or prevent one. An AEP works within many domains of health including cardiovascular, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, cancers, kidney, respiratory/pulmonary, and mental health.
They are university qualified health professionals equipped with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to design, deliver, and evaluate safe and effective exercise interventions for people with chronic disease, injury, and conditions.
Exercise has been proven to:
- Reduce the number of fatal heart attacks,
- Recover from cancer quicker and combat associated fatigue of some treatments,
- Reduce the risk of, and help you manage type 2 diabetes,
- Help combat depression and the effects of medication
- reduce pain and increase movement of those with osteoarthritis
- help you manage your chronic pain

Even though it isn’t required to commence sessions, you can get referred to an AEP through your GP. Everyone who qualifies is entitled to five allied health sessions a year, covered under Medicare. This means that we will bulk bill your allocated sessions, covered under the Chronic Disease Management plan.
You may also be able to claim exercise physiology sessions under your private health insurance, contact your provider to find out if you qualify.
If you, or anyone you know, need a tailored exercise program to help manage a health condition, book in with an exercise physiologist, and start the journey to better your quality of life. In conjunction with behaviour and lifestyle change strategies, you can work your way towards your goals through exercise.
PLEASE PUT YOUR DETAILS BELOW AND WE WILL BE IN TOUCH WITH YOU TO FURTHER DISCUSS AND BOOK IN YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT
*** If you have type 2 diabetes, you also qualify for eight group classes per calendar year, in addition to the five individual sessions supplied by Medicare.
